A Complete Treatment of the Patient with Osteopathic Medicine

At the heart of Health Solutions is a holistic approach to medicine that allows us to offer a comprehensive program for osteopathic medicine in Illinois. Our osteopathic doctors have licensed physicians who bring an “extra” to the practice of medicine. We make a “whole person” approach and treat the entirety of the person, instead of focusing on the symptoms alone.

It means that we take a closer look at the various aspects that may affect your health, to help you develop a lifestyle that will pave the way for long-term health and wellness.

Tracing the Symptoms

Our osteopathic doctors focus on prevention by looking into how your environment and lifestyle possibly affect your health.

As our goal includes helping improve your physical, mental, and spiritual health, we try to get a 360-degree view of your health and life in general. A visit with our doctors typically involves sitting down with you and listening to your stories about recent goings-on at home or with your family and work. We believe that by looking into these facets, we can help ease stress, alleviate your symptoms and prevent future ones from developing, eventually, helping your body heal itself.

Determining the Root Cause of the Problem

We see the body as an entire unit, and when one part is not functioning, as usual, it could affect everything else.

When you come to us for a persistent pain in your chest, for example, our osteopathic doctors in Illinois will first conduct a physical exam. Once we have ruled out heart disease, pneumonia, and other medical problems, we then look at the way your bones and muscles work together for signs that say something is out of place. If we find out that a displaced rib is causing the pain, we correct it through osteopathic manipulative treatment. However, if it’s something more severe, such as heart disease, you will receive standard medical treatment.

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

Our doctors have received additional training in manipulating the body’s interconnected system of bones, muscles, and nerves or what we call the musculoskeletal system. The training arms us with a deeper understanding of how an illness or injury in one part of the body can affect other parts.

All of our Illinois osteopathic doctors are skilled in osteopathic manipulative treatment, but we use it conservatively. We use it to relieve pain, help patients move with ease, and promote healing. In some cases, we use it in treating migraines, asthma, sinus disorders, and menstrual pain.

Our osteopathic doctors are trained to be doctors first, and specialists next, and many of them are family-oriented primary care physicians. Count on us to care for every member of your family and the entire community.
